BENEFITS OVERVIEW
Here
is an overview of the basic benefits available to all
regular, full-time employees. Further clarification
and details available in plan booklets, brochures, contracts
and firm policies. Benefits are subject to change without
notice at WBCM’s discretion.
•
GROUP LIFE, HEALTH & DISABILITY INSURANCE
Choose between three Coventry Healthcare plans: an open--access HMO, a PPO/POS, or an HSA-qualified high-deductible health plan. Premiums are paid pre-tax and are subsidized by WBCM. Short-term disability (15-day waiting period),
long-term disability, accidental
death and dismemberment, and life insurance are 100%
employer-paid.

DENTAL PLAN
Choose
between an HMO or two different PPO plans.
Premiums are paid pre-tax and are subsidized by WBCM.
•
MEDICAL/DENTAL & DEPENDENT CARE FLEX SPENDING ACCOUNTS
Use pre-tax payroll deductions to pay anticipated medical
expenses and/or day care for children or elderly dependents.
• 401(k) RETIREMENT PLAN
Immediate eligibility for tax-deferred income contributed toward retirement. Currently, choose from among 16 different investment alternatives or combinations thereof. For 2005, WBCM will match 50% of a Plan participant's bi-weekly voluntary contributions, not to exceed 50% of 6% of the Plan participant's bi-weekly income as defined in the Plan.
• IDENTIFY THEFT/FRAUD PROTECTION
WBCM pays 100% of this protection for employees and their dependent family members.
• TUITION ASSISTANCE
WBCM will reimburse regular employees' tuition expenses at 50% for courses leading to a Bachelors Degree in civil engineering, surveying, engineering technology, landscape architecture, urban planning, architecture, and other degrees subject to approval as long as a grade of “C” or better is obtained. WBCM will reimburse regular employees' tuition expenses at 90% for courses leading to a graduate degree related to engineering, architecture, planning, surveying or other approved programs, as long as a grade of “C” or better is obtained. Reimbursement for graduate degrees in related fields, such as MBA or as approved, will be at the rate of 75%, as long as a grade of “C” or better is obtained. In all cases, the maximum reimbursement will be the average cost of a three-credit engineering course at the University of Maryland, College Park and a three-credit engineering course at Johns Hopkins University. To secure reimbursement, submit your grade and a copy of your tuition bill.
• COMBINED VACATION/SICK LEAVE
Leave may taken for any reason—vacation, illness, doctor’s appointments, family needs. All introductory and regular full-time employees earn leave time at the rate of 3 weeks (120 hours) of leave time per year, accrued on a calendar year basis. Starting with the 6th year and continuing through year 10, employees accrue one additional day of leave per year, accruing up to 4 weeks maximum. Employees may carry over up to 40 hours per year, accumulating a “bank” of 80 hours maximum. Any remaining hours over and above 40/year are automatically paid out at the end of each calendar year. Overdrawn leave will be deducted for an employee’s last pay check upon termination of employment.
• HOLIDAYS
Seven and one-half (7.5) major holidays and one (1) “floating” holiday, which may be taken as one full day or two half-days.
• FLU SHOTS
Annual vaccination free to all employees, at-cost to family members.

CREDIT UNION MEMBERSHIP
Full-service. Free checking earns interest. Free checks
with ATM card, no-fee Point Breeze Visa Card and direct
deposit. Once a member, always a member. Family members
also eligible to join.

DIRECT DEPOSIT
Payroll check deposited directly into up to 3 checking/savings
accounts.
• FINANCIAL PLANNING SERVICES
Broad range of services available to employees through PSA Financial and Wachovia Bank.
• "WACHOVIA AT WORK PROGRAM"
Free banking, on-line bill-paying, discount mortgage/home equity loans, and other services.

WBCM has $100,000 in Business Accident Insurance, as
per conditions of the policy.

Reimbursement for business-related travel at the rate
of $.44.5 per mile.

SALARY ADJUSTMENTS
Employee performance is reviewed every June. At that
time, you will meet with your supervisor to discuss
your performance. This is a two-way, informal meeting
where problems may be freely discussed and compensation
is reviewed for adjustment.
