Project Engineer (07B-06-001)

WBCM seeks a Transportation Engineer with BSCE, at least 3 years’ highway design experience, and familiarity with Maryland SHA design.  Licensed P.E. preferred, but not required.  Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to, setting line, grade and typical sections; developing cross-sections; and preparing highway construction plans.  Successful candidate needs to be flexible and able to work on numerous projects, juggle deadlines, and work with many personalities across discipline lines, keeping project goals in mind.  MSOffice and Microstation experience is required.  Geopak and/or Inroads experience is a plus.  This position requires minimal lifting (10-20 lbs.) in mostly an indoor/office environment, but outside work, regardless of weather, is sometimes required.  Some travel also required.  Overtime occasionally necessary.  Position gets straight time OT and reports to Project Managers.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BSCE

  • 3 years of experience in highway design

  • familiarity with Maryland SHA design

  • MS-Office and Microstation experience

  • U.S. citizenship

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Have your own transportation

  • Able to work outside sometimes regardless of weather

  • Available for some travel and overtime

  • Able to lift 10-20 lbs.
