Project Engineer (08B-02-002)

WBCM seeks a Project Engineer with MD PE (or ability to obtain via reciprocity) and four years bridge design/inspection experience or BSCE/BTCE/EIT and ten years bridge design/inspection experience.  Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to, design structural components of bridges, box culverts, retaining walls and related structures, develop details of bridge components for contract drawings, calculate quantities and develop construction cost estimates, review shop drawings, perform bridge inspections, write bridge inspections reports and perform condition ratings, perform load ratings, assemble contract bid packages of plans, specifications and engineer’s construction cost estimate, supervise other engineers and CADD Technicians.  Successful candidate needs to be flexible and able to work on numerous projects, juggle deadlines, and work with many personalities across discipline lines, keeping project goals in mind. Microstation experience is preferred.  Develop man-hour estimates, schedules and budgets and monitor project progress to make sure the team is within goals.  Handle client contacts and document activities.  Refer to posting #08B-02-002 when applying.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MD PE (or ability to obtain via reciprocity) and 4 years' bridge design/inspection experience or BSCE/BTCE/EIT and 10 years' bridge design/inspection experience.  

  • Proficient user of MS Office

  • Knowledge of computer programs such as STAAD, DESCUS, RCPier, Conspan, and L-Pile

  • Knowledge of various codes such as AASHTO, ACI, AISC, etc.

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Able to lift 10-20 lbs.

  • Able to work outside sometimes regardless of weather

  • Able to performing field work requiring climbing, moving ladders, and carrying and using small boats

  • Available for some travel and occasional overtime

Position Type:  Exempt, Salaried II (1.0 overtime rate)
