Hospital
and Medical Facilities Experience

Emergency
Services Facility
Bayview Medical Center
Baltimore, MD

WBCM
has master planned and designed the Emergency Services
Facility at the Bayview Medical Center with emphasis
on Critical Care and Trauma patient delivery in emergency
situations. This facility, designed to be located over
the existing public emergency center, is an addition
of a three-story addition and a major heliport on the
roof of the expanded building. Phased construction of
the facility allows for the construction of the air
transport system prior to the infill of the 3-story
addition. The heliport is planned to support two full-size
Medivac helicopters at the same time making it the largest
such facility in the region for emergency medicine.
The project estimate of construction costs is $25 million
for the full design and approximately $8 million for
the landing surfaces and support.
Cafeteria
Renovations
Washington Hospital Center
Washington, DC

WBCM
renovated the public and employee cafeteria for the
Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C. Working
directly with the owner, WBCM provided graphic representations
of 6 different interior designs for the creation of
a new image for the first floor of the main hospital.
Using the computer and graphic capabilities in-house,
the project was further developed into what is rendered
with the owner and graphic designer sitting together
changing the images “on the fly.” Once the
design was agreed to, texture, color, and light were
added to the design to give “real-time”
representation of the completed facility.
